Why you should choose Whiskers and Wags Pet Sitting to care for your pet when you can’t be there yourself.

Because you want someone who genuinely loves animals

Kate brings the commitment to your pet’s well-being that only comes from really loving animals. If her own furry family members and the many animals in need she’s helped could talk, they’d enthusiastically endorse her animal-lover bone fides.

Because you want someone who combines love of animals with knowledge and experience

Kate has logged more than thirty years working with animals as a veterinary assistant, stable manager and horseback riding instructor, and pet sitter, and has been fostering shelter animals for more than twenty years, often taking in the most at-risk cats and kittens. She is Red Cross Pet First Aid certified and is taking cat behavior courses through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.

Because you want someone who is reliable, dependable, and trustworthy

You are, after all, entrusting your pet sitter with a cherished member of your family.

Because you want someone who is insured

Whiskers and Wags is insured through the Business Insurers of the Carolinas, a sign of Kate’s commitment to the highest standards of professionalism in the care of your animals.

Rates and Services

  • Initial Consultation Free
Because it’s important for you to meet Kate and feel comfortable leaving your animals in her care, she will schedule a half-hour in-your-home consultation before the first pet sitting visit or dog walk. This is also an opportunity for Kate to meet and learn all about your pets and what they will need while in her care. Any additional trips to your home after the initial consultation for purposes including but not limited to key pick-up/drop-off or meeting new pets will be charged $15.
  • Pet Sitting $23 per visit for up to three animals; $3 per additional pet per visit
Each visit to your home includes feeding, medicating if necessary (Kate can administer oral medications, insulin shots, and subcutaneous fluids), a trip outside for a potty break for dogs, litter box cleaning for cats, and of course, lots of love and attention.
  • Dog Walking   $23 per half hour
Walks can be scheduled on a daily or as-needed basis.
  • Holiday Surcharge   $10 per visit
The surcharge will be added to every pet sitting visit or dog walk scheduled on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.
  • Pet Taxi $12 flat rate up to 5 miles, $1/mile thereafter, $10 per half hour wait fee.
In the unlikely event that veterinary attention is required, Kate can safely and promptly deliver your pet to your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital, and if necessary, wait while he’s being treated and bring him back home.
